Yepdose

Medisafe capped its free plan at two medicines on 1 January 2026, and went subscription-only in some countries. If you are looking for somewhere to go, here is what changes and what does not. Prices are U.S. App Store prices, checked 25 September 2026.

What Medisafe has that Yepdose doesn't

Android and a web app. A drug interaction checker. Pharmacy and drug-maker programmes. Ten years of reviews. If someone in the household is on Android, Medisafe or MyTherapy is the better choice today. Yepdose is iPhone and Apple Watch only, and we say so before you install rather than after.

What stays free, in writing

Unlimited medicines, unlimited reminders that follow up, unlimited profiles on your phone, widgets, the Apple Watch app, history, import, and iCloud sync of your own data. The basics are free. That won't change. Family is only for what a second person benefits from: the push when a dose is missed, sharing a profile, PDF and CSV reports, up to five shared profiles, plus medicine lookup and refill reminders.

How to switch in five minutes

1. Export from Medisafe

In Medisafe, open your report and choose Export to Excel. Save the file to Files or share it to your phone.

2. Import into Yepdose

In Yepdose, go to Settings → Import → Medisafe file and pick that file. Before anything is saved you review each medicine, the schedule Yepdose worked out from the export, and how many past records came with it. Nothing is imported until you confirm.

3. Check the times and a few dates

Yepdose keeps the schedule it read. Open each medicine once and make sure the times and quantities are what you take. If your export writes dates day first (5/10/2026 for 5 October), spot-check a few past records in History: a date that could be read either way is read month first. Then turn on reminders when the app asks.

4. If someone looks after you

Settings → Share with a caregiver sends them an iCloud invitation. They need an iPhone too. From then on they get a notification when you miss a dose. If you share with permission to edit, they can also log a dose for you; view-only means they see and are told, but cannot change anything.

Questions people ask before switching

Will my history come across?

Yes, what Medisafe put in the export: which medicine, when it was scheduled, and what was recorded. The review shows how many records each medicine brings; after the import they are in History and in the adherence reports. Dates that could be day-first or month-first are read month-first, so check a few if your export is day-first.

Can I trust that free stays free?

It is written on this site, in the App Store listing and inside the app. Nothing that is free today moves behind the paywall later. If we ever needed to charge for something new, it would be something new.

What if I buy Family and stop needing it?

The yearly subscription is cancelled in your Apple Account settings and runs to the end of the period. The one-time purchase is yours forever, on every iPhone signed into your Apple Account.

Is Yepdose a medical device?

No. It is a reminder and record-keeping tool. It does not give medical advice, check interactions for you, or replace your doctor or pharmacist.
